National Preparedness Month
September is National Preparedness month! Encourage EVERYONE to take even one simple action to support emergency preparedness for someone who cannot address it on their own. Here are some ideas -
- Write down emergency contact information for someone who can’t do so
- Give lightsticks or disaster supplies to a frail senior
- Install cabinet latches for a person physically unable to do so
- Buy a flashlight and batteries for a person who can’t afford one
- Practice “Drop, Cover and Hold” with a child
- Put a link on your website to www.FirstVictims.org so people can easily find special needs preparedness information
