Garbage Bags

Garbage bags are some of the most useful and affordable supplies of all. Give everyone a garbage bag to keep in their work area and have them brainstorm at least 5 ways they could use it in an emergency. Suggestion: Don’t hand out a list -- make people think! Here are just a few uses:

• Emergency rain poncho or emergency clothes
• Waterproofing for valuables
• Emergency bathroom
• Seal doors and windows against airborne hazards
• Cover windows for privacy or protection from the elements
• Carry water for drinking, washing and cleaning
